The library has a full-time and a part-time reference librarians. Although they cannot perform individual research, they can help you find sources, use the library effectively, answer questions and find information. The Reference Department staff has several online databases, the Internet and a print reference collection at their disposal. They can also obtain information and request items from other libraries and institutions throughout the state and parts of the United States through inter-library loan services . Scanned copies of articles from journals and magazines can be obtained from the Boston Public Library. Allow at least 48 hours for delivery. These scanned copies can be emailed to you or printed out and picked at the Reference Desk. Printing costs .10 a page for black and white and .25 for color. Email services are free.
