7th annual Books in Bloom event from
May 2nd through May 27th!
Join us for our 7th annual Books in Bloom month long event! Stop by the library to check out beautiful book displays that are “blooming” to life and vote for your favorite display! Book displays can be seen throughout the library for the month of May and are designed by library staff and the Mansfield Garden Club! Also don’t forget to enter to win a raffle basket!
All winners will be announced on Friday, May 27th.
Several of our monthly recurring programs will have “special” floral themes, including our Mystery Book Club discussion of The Girls in the Garden by Lisa Jewell and our resumption of the monthly movie night!! For the month of May, we will be showing the 1986 cult classic film, Little Shop of Horrors!! Our monthly Spice Club will also have a “floral” theme! We will offer dried hibiscus and two recipes!
Special events during Books in Bloom will include a special parent/child Rainbow Willow Tree Painting class, a Take & Make projects for teens and adults, a virtual Author Talk with author Weina Dai Randel, who will discuss her book, The Last Rose of Shanghai, a special IN PERSON program, A Walk Through the Garden with Eleanor Roosevelt and a virtual Lotus Lantern workshop! Don’t forget that space is limited for these programs!
Also happening during the month of May is the Garden Club of Mansfield’s 27th Annual Gardening on the Green Sale at Town Hall on Saturday, May 21st!!
