8th annual Books in Bloom event
May 1st through May 26th!
Join us for our 8th annual Books in Bloom month long event! Stop by the library to check out beautiful book displays that are “blooming” to life and vote for your favorite! Book displays can be seen throughout the library from May 1st to the 26th and are designed by library staff, members of the Mansfield Garden Club, Mansfield Council on Aging, Mansfield Cable Access, and book clubs from Mansfield High School and Jordan Jackson School! Also don’t forget to enter to win a raffle basket! All winners will be announced on Tuesday, May 30th!
Several of our monthly recurring programs will have “special” floral themes, including our Library Book Club’s virtual discussion of Peach Blossom Spring by Melissa Fu! Our monthly Spice Club will also have a “floral” theme. We will be offering Orange Blossom Water and two recipes!
Special events during the month of May include the workshop, The X Factor: Disability, Long-Term Care, and Life Insurance presented by Michael Wink; a lecture presented by the Mansfield Historical Society; a meditative crafting night for teens and adults who want to nurture their creativity; and a lecture titled, Environmental Stewardship through Sustainable Gardening. Don’t forget that space is limited for these programs!
We also have lots of fun and blooming programs happening in the Children’s Room, such as the Grow Your Own Mini Chia Pet craft!! And don’t forget our floral-themed book displays!
Also happening during the month of May is the Garden Club of Mansfield’s 28th Annual Gardening on the Green Sale at Town Hall on Saturday, May 20th!!
Other activities during Books in Bloom can be found on the library’s Calendar of Events!
